Each quarter, Luminary Hospice reflects on the people, moments, and community connections that bring our mission to life. In Q3 2025, we were honored to serve 247 patients and families, supported by 86 volunteer hours rooted in compassion and presence. Below are quarterly highlights from each of our locations, showcasing the Bright Moments that honor quality of life through connection, celebration, and care.
Novi, Michigan: On October 8, Chaplain Deacon Jenny Ritter and HCC Mario Tatum led a Blessing of the Hands at three local facilities, offering caregivers a moment of reflection and renewal. The event beautifully embodied Luminary’s mission to deliver care that is personal, community- centered, and grounded in dignity.
Columbus, Ohio: The Columbus team celebrated a patient’s 96th birthday—a special moment shared with his wife, who is also in our care. Volunteer Grace baked the patient’s favorite cake, making the day truly meaningful for the couple and their family.
Mt. Vernon, Ohio: When HCC Dani and Chaplain Will helped call bingo at the senior center, it sparked new friendships—and an invitation to return. Their visit inspired our nursing team to begin monthly blood pressure checks, strengthening Luminary’s presence in the community.
Fort Wayne, Indiana: With over 85 years of combined experience, the Fort Wayne team is dedicated to creating Bright Moments that honor life—through birthday celebrations, veteran pinnings, pet visits, and more. Their work continues to bring light, comfort, and joy to those we serve.
South Bend, Indiana: Our team helped patient Sue fulfill her dream of visiting the beach by creating a beach-inspired photo session. Complete with family portraits and a keepsake photo book, it was a joyful reminder that connection and creativity bring comfort anywhere.
Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas: Through the Hearts and Minds: Dementia Care Training, our team gained hands-on insight into the challenges faced by patients with dementia. The experience deepened empathy and strengthened our ability to provide safe, compassionate care.
Indianapolis, Indiana: Our Indianapolis team offers dementia and grief support groups across multiple facilities, along with bible study and devotional sessions for patients and families. These efforts provide emotional, social, and spiritual support to those navigating life’s most difficult moments.
Kansas City, Missouri: Luminary Hospice partnered with KC Shepherd Center, a nonprofit supporting local seniors, for a Chiefs-themed BBQ celebration. Our team shared hospice education and sweet treats while strengthening community connections and our ongoing commitment to inclusive senior care.
Cincinnati, Ohio: Shirley, a patient who loves travel and family, enjoyed her Bright Moment—a guided “trip around the world” at Jungle Jim’s, followed by her favorite fried fish from Culver’s. Comfort, dignity, care, and joy.
