At Luminary Hospice, our commitment to care extends beyond the patients and families we serve directly.

The Luminary Community Program reflects how we show up in the communities we call home, through service, partnership, and education that foster connection and understanding.

Across every location, our teams and volunteers work alongside local organizations to support individuals and families navigating aging, illness, and loss. Rooted in compassion and presence, we believe hospice care is not only something we provide, but something we share.

Across every Luminary agency, three pillars guide our community work, all grounded in one shared mission, care that is personal, rooted in community, and grounded in dignity.

Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in extending Luminary’s presence beyond clinical care. From companionship and practical support to participation in community events and outreach, volunteers help foster connection, dignity, and belonging for patients, families, and neighbors alike.

Community Partnerships

We partner with local organizations, senior centers, nonprofits, and community groups to meet people where they are. These partnerships allow us to support community needs, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful moments of connection, whether through shared events, ongoing programs, or collaborative outreach.

Education

Education is central to our community work. Through workshops, support groups, faith-based programming, and informal conversations, Luminary teams help increase understanding around hospice care, grief, dementia, and end-of-life planning. These efforts create space for learning, dialogue, and support long before care is needed.
